John Rich Trucker Man

He’s got a sunburn on his left arm

From hangin’ out a Peterbilt window

Got a wife and three kids on the farm

Drivin’ just as fast as he can go, yeah

Minneapolis in his rear view

He’s a dead headin’ to Tulsa

Got the hammer down on 82

With every mile marker getting’ closer, I said

Hey, he’s a trucker man

Tryin’ to get home just as fast as he can

Those redeye runs are taking their toll

His eighteen wheeler is a rollin’ back home

Starin’ a hole through the windshield

He’s got nineteen on the CB wheel

They call him the Bandit

‘Cause he only brakes for the Smokies, I said

Hey, he’s a trucker man

Tryin’ to get home just as fast as he can

Those redeye runs are taking their toll

His eighteen wheeler is a rollin’ back home

He’s got a Smith and Wesson in the glove box

And Mother Mary on the dashboard

He’s a red blooded, blue collar man

American right to the core

Hey, he’s a trucker man

Tryin’ to get home just as fast as he can

Those redeye runs are taking their toll

His eighteen wheeler is a rollin’ back home

Say it, hey, he’s a trucker man

Tryin’ to get home just as fast as he can

Those redeye runs are taking their toll

His eighteen wheeler is a rollin’ back home

Well, he’s rollin’ back home

John Rich Another You

My god what have I done

You gave me your heart

And I broke it up

Now here I am

All alone and I’m hatin’ me

Cuz’ baby with you I had everything

Now I’m a nothin’ man

Not sure what I do from here

Or where I’ll go

Baby the only thing I know is

[CHORUS:]

I’ll never find another you

Someone who moves me like you do

Someone that knows me inside out

A love that’ll never let me down

I could search all through this world

Try to find another like you girl

But no matter what I do

I’ll never find another you

You put yourself in the palm of my hand

I was the envy of every man

And it was beautiful

What a perfect little life we found

We built it up and I tore it all down…..like a fool

How will I ever forgive myself

And how do I live

Knowing I’ll never feel that way again

And

[CHORUS]

Maybe someday I’ll find a sweet face

That takes me half the way to where we’ve been

Oh and who knows maybe I’ll come close

But comin’ close is all I’ll ever get

All I’ll ever get

[CHORUS]

I’ll never find another you

I’ll never find another you

John Rich The Good Lord And The Man

Well he was one of the millions

who signed up to defend us

long ago in 1941

when they sucker punched us in Pearl Harbor

he fought under Macarthur seventeen with an army Thompson gun

Well he stormed a lot of beaches slept in jungles with the leaches

he saw things young man should never see

and when they shot him in the shoulder

he got back up and he marched over

left a lot of brothers dead in kawagalie

If it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

there wouldn’t be a breath of freedom in this land

and I see people on my T.V. taking shots at uncle Sam

I hope they always remember why they can

cause we’d all be speakin’ German livin’ under the flag of Japan

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

Well I’m the grandson of a soldier and I’d fight the whole world over

if duty called and freedoms on the line

but thanks to the greatest generation and the ones still fighting for our nation

I’ve never had to kill for my way of life

If it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

there wouldn’t be a breath of freedom in this land

and I see people on my T.V. taking shots at uncle Sam

I hope they always remember why they can

cause we’d all be speakin’ German livin’ under flag of Japan

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

there wouldn’t be a breath of freedom in this land

and I see people on my T.V. taking shots at uncle Sam

I hope they always remember why they can

cause we’d all be speakin’ German livin’ under flag of Japan

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

if it wasn’t for the good lord and the man

John Rich Underneath The Same Moon

Shadows of the night

Moving on the ground

Like silent clouds

They follow me, around

As I wonder through the dark

Through the midnight mist

Remembering our last kiss

Do you know how much you’re missed

Tonight I stand in this lonely place

And I’ve searched the heavens for some saving grace

And I cry, dieing without you

I know you’re somewhere looking up there too.

Right now that’s all two distant hearts can do

At least we’re underneath, underneath the same moon

Picturing your face

Flowers in your hair

Like you always wear

Ohh, I can see you there.

Longing to be touched

But you’re out of reach

Ohhh, hold on please

Wont you wait for me.

Tonight I stand in this lonely place

And I’ve searched the heavens for some saving grace

And I cry, dieing without you

I know you’re somewhere looking up there too.

Right now that’s all two distant hearts can do

At least we’re underneath, underneath the same moon

Shadows of the night

Moving on the ground

Like silent clouds

They follow me, around

John Rich She’s A Butterfly

She remembers when she first got her wings

And how she opened up the day she learned to sing

And then the colors came, erased the black and white

And her whole world changed, oh she realized

She’s a butterfly, pretty as the crimson sky

Nothing’s ever gonna bring her down

And everywhere she goes

Everybody knows, she’s so glad to be alive

She’s a butterfly

Like the purest light in a darkened world

So much hope inside such a lovely girl

You should see her fly, it’s almost magical

It makes you wanna cry, she’s so beautiful

She’s a butterfly, pretty as the crimson sky

Nothing’s ever gonna bring her down

And everywhere she goes

Everybody knows, she’s so glad to be alive

She’s a butterfly

God bless the butterfly,

Give her the strength to fly

Never let her wings touch the ground

God bless the butterfly,

Give her the strength to fly

Never let her wings touch the ground

She’s a butterfly, pretty as the crimson sky

Nothing’s ever gonna bring her down

And everywhere she goes

Everybody knows, she’s so glad to be alive

She’s a butterfly

She’s a butterfly

She’s a butterfly

God bless the butterfly,

Give her the strength to fly

Never let her wings touch the ground

God bless the butterfly,

Give her the strength to fly

Never let her wings touch the ground

John Rich When You Love Someone

When you love someone

You’ll do anything

You’ll do all the crazy things

that you can’t explain

You’ll shoot the moon, put out the sun,

When you love someone

You’ll deny the truth

Believe a lie

There’ll be times that you believe

You can really fly

But you’re lonely nights

Have just begun

When you love someone

When you love someone

You’ll feel it deep inside

And nothing else

Can ever change your mind

When you want someone

When you need someone

When you love someone

When you love someone

You’ll sacrifice

You’ll give everything you got

And you wont think twice

You’ll risk it all

No matter what may come

When you love someone

You’ll shoot the moon,

Put out the sun,

When you love someone

John Rich New Jerusalem

One of these days their gonna lay me down in the cold hard ground where the sun never shines and I’ve got to say that I just

Master’s throne in the New Jerusalem

[CHORUS]

John Rich Where Angels Hang Around

A hundred miles out of Little Rock

Windshield full of rain

I-40 eastbound drivin’ while I pray

She’s asleep in the backseat

Holdin’ tight to her teddy bear

She’s got her daddy’s smile and her momma’s hair

And one word knocked our lives off track

Just one word keeps us comin’ back

Across the Mississippi

A mile or two from Beale Street

Not too far from Graceland

Where the king of rock and roll sleeps

To a place for children

Where God sends his mercy rainin’ down

In the heart of Memphis

Where angels hang around

All the deals that I made with God

The conversations that we’ve had

Tryin’ to accept the things I could not understand

I wanna walk her down the aisle

While those church bells ring

See her get the chance

To live all her dreams

But one word knocked our lives off track

Just one word keeps us comin’ back

Across the Mississippi

A mile or two from Beale Street

Not too far from Graceland

Where the king of rock and roll sleeps

To a place for children

Where God sends his mercy rainin’ down

In the heart of Memphis

Where angels hang around

So sleep tight baby while these four wheels roll

’Cause just beyond the clouds there’s a ray of hope

It’s a place for children

Where God sends his mercy rainin’ down

In the heart of Memphis

Where angels hang around

John Rich Country Done Come To Town

I’m just a country boy and, yes, I do enjoy

Showing them city folk my hell raising ways

Valet my muddy truck in a highfalutin’ club

I holler “Howdy” just to see what they say

They say oh, whoa

Country done come to town

So put your Gucci shoes up

And pull your roller cases out

We’re gonna have ourselves a hell raising time

Yeah, we’re gonna party like cowboys tonight

Singin’ oh, whoa

Country done come to town

I give the girls a wink, I buy the boys a drink

I keep on tipping ’til they play me some Hank

And when they finally do, I show ’em my boot scoot move

By closing time, they’re all talking that twang

Sayin’ oh, whoa

Country done come to town

So put your Gucci shoes up

And pull your roller cases out

We’re gonna have ourselves a hell raising time

Yeah, we’re gonna party like cowboys tonight

Singin’ oh, whoa

Country done come to town

A Stetson hat

A button down

A rowdy crowd

Can I get a hell, yeah?

Whoa, whoa

Country done come to town

So put your Gucci shoes up

And pull your roller cases out

We’re gonna have ourselves a hell raising time

Yeah, we’re gonna party like cowboys tonight

Singin’ oh, whoa

Country done come to town

Singin’ whoa, whoa

Country done come to town

Singin’ whoa, whoa

Singin’ whoa, whoa

Singin’ whoa, whoa

Country done come to town

Country done come to town

Country done come to town
