Scotty McCreery Clear As Day

You were sitting on that Silverado bumper

Outside our locker room after the game

Glowing in the tan you got that summer

I walked by and you said ‘Hey’

Yeah, that night’s still clear as day

First time we’d ever beaten East Lincoln county

Big party down at Ricky Bowman’s place

I walked up, you threw your arms around me

You whispered you loved to watch me play

Yeah, that night’s still clear as day

[Chorus:]

There ain’t one second times erased

Every detail is still in place

You hold to what you love

Some things never fade

And that night’s still clear as day

We went to get some fresh air on the back porch

I put my class ring by the cross on your gold chain

You backed my back against those cedar clapboards

My lips ain’t never kissed that way

Yeah, that night’s still clear as day

[Chorus:]

There ain’t one second times erased

Every detail is still in place

You hold to what you love

Some things never fade

I walked you to your brother’s Silverado

When you climbed behind the wheel you seemed OK

Last thing you said was “I’ll call you tomorrow”

That’s a call you never got to make

They blamed it on the fog and pouring rain

That night’s still clear as day

Scotty McCreery Dirty Dishes

Mama hollers “Supper time,

And don’t make me tell you twice

Wash your hands and wipe your face.

The table’s no place for your toys,

And try to use your inside voice,

Don’t dig in ’til we say Grace.”

So we put down our forks and bowed our heads

And then she prayed the strangest prayer ever said:

“I wanna thank You Lord,

For noisy children and slamming doors,

And clothes scattered all over the floor,

A husband workin’ all the time,

Draggin’ in dead tired at night,

My never ending messy kitchen

And dirty dishes.”

We all got real still and quiet,

And daddy asked “Honey, you alright?”

She said, “There ain’t nothing wrong,

Noisy kids are happy kids,

And slamming doors just means we live,

In a warm and loving home,

Your long hours and those dishes in the sink,

Means a job and enough to eat.

So I’m gonna thank You Lord,

For noisy children and slamming doors,

And clothes scattered all over the floor,

A husband workin’ all the time,

Draggin’ in dead tired at night,

My never ending messy kitchen

For my little busy bees

Beggin’ mama, mama can you please?

Always wantin’ me and callin’ me

Loads of laundry pilin’ up

Crayons crushed into the rug

In those little sticky kisses

And dirty dishes,

And dirty dishes…”

Scotty McCreery Blue Jean Baby

She bought ’em at the thrift store down on Main

For twenty-three dollars a pair

Faded and worn in all the right ways

That’s all she ever wants to wear

From the first sweet moment I laid eyes on those Levis

Well, I was begging on my knees

Pretty please, oh, won’t you be my

[CHORUS:]

Blue jean baby

Painted on tight, driving me crazy

Denim daisy

Turning heads all over town

The other girls rocking them mini skirts

But they can’t hold a candle to her

My blue jean baby

She got a little hole right below the pocket

Showing off a little skin

She don’t care if they get a little dirty

Tomorrow she gonna wear ’em again

The way they’re hugging on those hips every time she struts by

I know as long as I live I could never get enough of my

[CHORUS:]

Blue jean baby

Painted on tight, driving me crazy

Denim daisy

Turning heads all over town

The other girls rocking them mini skirts

But they can’t hold a candle to her

My blue jean baby

Yeah, the summer time is the best part of all

‘Cause when she gets too hot, she just cuts them off

My blue jean baby

Painted on tight, driving me crazy

Denim daisy

Turning heads all over town

Yeah, she’s my blue jean baby

Painted on tight, driving me crazy

That denim daisy

Turning heads all over town

The other girls rocking them mini skirts

But they can’t hold a candle to her

My blue jean baby

Yeah, she’s my blue jean baby, yeah

Oh, she’s my blue jean baby

Scotty McCreery Better Than That

First crush, first kiss, first time I saw the ocean

And dug my toes in the sand

(Your love is better than that)

Baseball and summer nights, casting out when the fish first bite,

First time I got a Chevy in my hands

(Your love is better than that)

I thought nothing can touch that by a mile

I thought nothing can make that moment seem so worthwhile

Your love is better, better, better than that

Nothing is sweeter than you,

Making my heart beat so fast

Everything I could have been

That was at the end of all those other paths

Your love is better,

Your love is better than that

Six string, first song, the way it felt to sing along

To some words that were scribbled on my soul

(Your love is better than that)

I thought nothing can touch that by a mile

I thought nothing can make that moment seem so worthwhile

Your love is better, better, better than that

Nothing is sweeter than you,

Making my heart beat so fast,

Everything I could have been

That was at the end of all those other paths

Your love is better,

Your love is better than that

One day, years from now,

When I’m old and gray, I’m gonna smile about

How life has been so good…

But your love is better, better, better than that

Nothing is sweeter than you,

Making my heart beat so fast,

Everything I could have been

That was at the end of all those other paths

Yeah, yeah, your love is better than that,

Better than that

(Your love is better than that)

Scotty McCreery Feelin’ It

I’m feelin’ it

Pop tops poppin’

Flip-flops floppin’

Drop tops droppin’ down

Ray-Bans rayin’

Waves are wavin’

Ladies are layin’ out

Feelin’ it

iPods rockin’

Sunblock blockin’

Igloos stockin’ up (yep)

Cutoffs are cuttin’

Worry ’bout nothin’

But puttin’ something in my cup (feelin’ it)

And I can’t, I can’t find nothin’ wrong

With nothin’, nothin’ that’s goin’ on

It’s makin’ me wanna sing a song

That goes like this

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like feelin’ that summertime feelin’

Kicked back, relaxed, just chillin’

I’m feelin’, I’m feelin’ it

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like diggin’ that summertime

Diggin’ in the sand, gettin’ tan

With your hand in my hand

I’m feelin’ it

Oh yeah, I’m feelin’ it

Rip tide rippin’

Skim board skimmin’

Sip, sippin’ somethin’ on ice (fill it up)

Hot gets hotter

Head to the water

Jump into paradise (feelin’ it)

And I can’t, I can’t find nothin’ wrong

With nothin’, nothin’ that’s goin’ on

It’s makin’ me wanna sing a song

That goes like this (like this)

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like feelin’ that summertime feelin’

Kicked back, relaxed, just chillin’

I’m feelin’, I’m feelin’ it

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like diggin’ that summertime

Diggin’ in the sand, gettin’ tan

With your hand in my hand

I’m feelin’ it

Oh, I’m feelin’ it

Sunset settin’

Gettin’ good’s gettin’

Good as it can get

Lip gloss glossin’

No more talkin’

Baby givin’ me a kiss

(Feelin’ it)

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like feelin’ that summertime feelin’

Kicked back, relaxed, just chillin’

I’m feelin’, I’m feelin’ it

Whoa, oh, whoa

Ain’t nothin’ like diggin’ that summertime

Diggin’ in the sand, gettin’ tan

With your hand in my hand

I’m feelin’ it

Oh yeah, oh I’m feelin’ it

Pop tops poppin’

iPods rockin’

Flip-flops floppin’

Oh, I’m feelin’ it

Scotty McCreery Before Midnight

In a nothing to do town, nothing’s going down

After them stars show up

It’s all dinners and TVs, red lights blinking

Then everybody’s sleeping but us

Now what do you do when you’re young and in love

And you got a new set of keys

And a beautiful girl with a bedroom window

Next to an old oak tree

Nothing good happens before midnight

I get all caught up kissing on you in the radio lights

No one’s watching but these blue eyes

Ain’t no close enough

Getting all kinda wrong, feeling all kinda right

Nothing good happens before midnight

It was killing the headlights, rolling in neutral

So they couldn’t hear us drive off

It was king of the main street, queen of the bench seat

Just us from dusk ’til dawn

Found a little spot in the dark by the water

Where we could lose track of time

The days were a part-time grocery store

But the nights were your lips on mine

Nothing good happens before midnight

I get all caught up kissing on you in the radio lights

No one’s watching but these blue eyes

Ain’t no close enough

Getting all kinda wrong, feeling all kinda right

Nothing good happens before midnight

Racing that sun back to your house

Wishing it would hurry up and go back down

So we can do it all again

Cause nothing good happens before midnight

I get all caught up kissing on you in the radio lights

No one’s watching but these blue eyes

Ain’t no close enough

Getting all kinda wrong, feeling all kinda right

Nothing good happens

Yeah, nothing good happens before midnight

Yeah, before midnight

Scotty McCreery Can You Feel It

Hey girl, do you feel that temperature drop?

That time, time, goin’ tick-tock

The whole world spinning then stop

Well, can you feel it?

What about that breeze that’s blowin’ through

Pullin’ me next to you

Tellin’ us what to do

Well, can you feel it?

Those stars are shinin’, dancin’ on your pretty skin

Baby, here we go again, whoa, oh

When, when you get close to me

Girl, you make my heart beat

Can you feel it, every time that you start leanin’ in

Baby, I’m all mixed up

Talkin’ ’bout that rush

From your touch

All these feelings creepin’ up

7 billion people in the world

But it feels like two

And baby, I’m feelin’ you

So, tell me, can you feel it, feel it

Baby, tell me can you feel it too

Hey girl, what about that cool green grass

That lake, lake, lookin’ like glass

That morning comin’ too fast

Can you feel it?

Hey, hey, whatcha think about that rush

Of the water when the creek comes up

Kinda chilly but it’s real good stuff

Can you feel it?

Well, dip your toe, maybe your leg, maybe your whole self in

I feel us fallin’, fallin’, here we go again

Oh baby, when, when you get close to me

Girl, you make my heart beat

Can you feel it, every time that you start leanin’ in

Baby, I’m all mixed up

Talkin’ ’bout that rush

From your touch

All these feelings creepin’ up

7 billion people in the world

But it feels like two

And baby, I’m feelin’ you

So, tell me, can you feel it, feel it

Baby, tell me can you feel it too

Can’t you feel it getting late

Baby, don’t you wanna stay

Up all night, maybe sleep all day

What do you say

When, when you get close to me

Girl, you make my heart beat

Can you feel it, every time that you start leanin’ in

Baby, I’m all mixed up

Talkin’ ’bout that rush

From your touch

All these feelings creepin’ up

7 billion people in the world

But it feels like two

And baby, I’m feelin’ you

So, tell me, can you feel it, feel it

Baby, tell me can you feel it too

Scotty McCreery Christmas Comin’ Round Again

Two brothers not speaking for two years now

Can’t even remember what they’re fighting about

It might be the snow falling or the glow of those lights

But they both say “I’m sorry”, end up talking all night

Hallelujah! There’s forgiveness in the wind

Hallelujah! It’s time to let go and let the love in

Christmas is comin’ ’round again

There’s a mom and a daddy split up last July

Two houses, three kids, now they’re splitting up time

Comes over for dinner, ends up sticking around

Round the table they’re laughing. Hey, they might work it out

Hallelujah! There’s forgiveness in the wind

Hallelujah! It’s time to let go and let the love in

Christmas is comin’ ’round again

Oh, there’s something ’bout this time of year

It makes you wanna start living right now, right here

He opens the door and walks inside.

The choir is singing “Silent Night”.

Hadn’t been in this place since he turned 18.

Heard the story of a baby born a king,

Sent here to save us from everything.

It hit him straight in his heart and he fell to his knees.

Hallelujah! There’s forgiveness in the wind

Hallelujah! It’s time to let go and let the love in

Hallelujah! There’s forgiveness in the wind

Hallelujah! It’s time to let go and let the love in

Christmas is comin’ ’round again

Christmas is comin’ ’round again

Scotty McCreery Carolina Moon

I woke up this morning to the hummin’ of the engines

Haulin’ nature’s finest from the Gulf of Mexico

Riding this ol’ river is peaceful but it’s lonesome

And it makes me wonder how the old folks are at home

[CHORUS:]

Now the years have blown by me like the wind through the pines

But the song of the south is ever sweet as homemade wine

Oh, how I miss those mountains when the laurels are in bloom

And the southern stars are dancin’ ’round the North Carolina moon

Just rolled through Memphis, I could hear them guitars palyin’

They had the blues so so bad it almost broke my heart

But it don’t sound nothing like a band of tree frogs singin’

When every now and then they get in tune with grandpa’s harp

[CHORUS:]

Now the years have blown by me like the wind through the pines

But the song of the south is ever sweet as homemade wine

Oh, how I miss those mountains when the laurels are in bloom

And the southern stars are dancin’ ’round the North Carolina moon

Now when I die boys, make me this promise

You’ll send my body back up North Carolina way

I don’t want no tombstone, just lay me next to mama

And let the honeysuckle grow wild upon my grave

[CHORUS:]

Now the years have blown by me like the wind through the pines

But the song of the south is ever sweet as homemade wine

Oh, how I miss those mountains when the laurels are in bloom

And the southern stars are dancin’ ’round the North Carolina moon

Yeah, the southern stars are dancin’ ’round the North Carolina moon

North Carolina moon

Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh [x2]

Scotty McCreery Back On The Ground

I dropped by to check on mama for a minute,

I could hear her humming a tune through the screen door in the kitchen

She was puttin’ the final touches on a homemade pecan pie

And just like always I was right on time

Little game of guess-who and I got a hug and “how’s my baby”

I said, “You know me mama I’ve been hittin’ it hard, runnin’ like crazy

But I don’t wanna bore you with that same old nothing’s new,

I’d rather just pull up this chair and get caught up on you”

Ain’t it funny how it all comes back around,

I remember when I couldn’t wait to get out of her hair and ditch this town.

I was restless a time to move on,

Now it’s any reason to go back home,

That’s what’s it all about,

Yeah, I’m just slowin’ down,

To get my feet back on the ground.

That minute turned into an hour ‘fore I knew it

And I got my fill on pie and how everybody’s doing

I used to look for every reason in the world to hit that door

And she said, “You want another cup of coffee?”

I said, “Yeah, I’ll take one more”

Ain’t it funny how it all comes back around,

I remember when I couldn’t wait to get out of her hair and ditch this town.

I was restless and time to move on,

Now it’s any reason to go back home,

That’s what’s it all about,

Yeah, I’m just slowin’ down,

To get my feet back on the ground.

And now, I can’t go too many days without

Checkin’ in, just touchin’ base, and just slowin’ down

Back on the ground.

I dropped by to check on mama, for a minute…
